Samsung Develops Intelligent DDIs for Mobile Devices

Samsung Electronics has unveiled an intelligent DDI (Display Driver IC) applied to mobile handheld devices. The new chip enables high-quality visibility of on-screen images outdoor by automatically detecting the ambient light condition. It also reduces power consumption by 30% when being used indoors. Samsung plans to start mass production on the DDI by the end of 2006.
