Samsung Develops 7" WVGA LCD Based on SoC Solution

Samsung on August 7 announced that it has developed a 7-inch WVGA (Wide Video Graphic Array) TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display) panel using a single chip solution. This panel will be used in multimedia devices such as DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) equipment, PDP (Portable Multimedia Player), and portable DVD players. Samsung expects to expand the annual capacity of this panel to 10 million units in 2007 and apply the same SoC solution to a 5-inch panel line in early 2007.
