Orion PDP, Changhong, Irico to Jointly Build PDP Plant in Sichuan

Korean plasma panel manufacturer Orion PDP plans to set up a PDP (Plasma Display Panel) plant in China with several local partners, including Changhong Electric and the Irico Group. The US$800-million new facility will be located in Mianyang, Sichuan. Orion PDP will be responsible for the technical aspect of the project, such as the production line design, while Changhong and Irio will take care of the financial issues. The new facility is expected to turn out two million units per year.
