Bharti Airtel Handsets to Adopt Microsoft's Windows Mobile Platform

Indian mobile communications operator Bharti Airtel has announced to team up with Microsoft to launch mobile phones based on the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform. Switching from its previous two-year alliance with Blackberry to Microsoft, Bharti Airtel will thus be able to offer the Microsoft Office suite and other business and multimedia applications to near 26 million customers via mobile phones. Further financial details of the alliance were not yet disclosed.
