AUO, Toppan to Form CF Alliance

Taiwanese AUO and Japanese Toppan announced on August 8 that they have inked an alliance agreement, whereby AUO will acquire Toppan's 37% stake for approximately NT$6.1 billion. AUO stated this alliance will strengthen its upstream color filter supply and technology, and the company may further acquire Toppan's stake up to a maximum of 49% in the future.
