Brazil Finalizes Decision to Adopt Japanese DTV Standard

As a follow-up to an Asia Express article dated April 21, 2006, the Brazilian government has announced that it will adopt the Japanese digital terrestrial broadcasting standard ISDB-T (Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial). The Brazilian government expects Japanese makers to set up three R&D facilities in Brazil to help local companies develop digital TVs, and to share related patents to accelerate this development.
