Samsung to Assemble LCD TVs in India
June 08, 2006
Reuters recently reported that Samsung plans to start assembling LCD TVs in India by the end of June. According to company sources, Samsung is going to assemble 26-, 32-, and 40-inch LCD TV sets at its Noida plant near New Delhi. Its initial monthly capacity is estimated to be 5,000 units, with plans to expand this volume within two to three months. Samsung hopes this local assembly will help them capture a 50% share of the local Indian LCD TV market.
