Universal Display and Mitsubishi Chemical have entered into an agreement to collaborate on developing next-generation materials for phosphorescent OLED displays. Both corporations have been developing phosphorescent OLED technology, and they intend to provide commercially viable solutions for phosphorescent OLED displays, and intend to share their expertise in this area. Phosphorescent OLED is said to be four times more efficient than conventional OLED technology.
