Microsoft, Lenovo to Launch FlexGo PCs in China and India
May 26, 2006
Microsoft and Lenovo announced on May 22 that they will launch PCs embedded with FlexGo technology in China and India. The project allows consumers to buy a Lenovo PC at about half the regular price, and buy pre-paid cards to access the PCs through the FlexGo technology by entering a code stated on the pre-paid card. The trial programs in China and India will kick off in the next three months. The project is aimed at increasing penetration of PCs in emerging markets.

Microsoft stated that it has also cooperated with other partners for this project, including AMD and Intel, and it plans to roll out similar trial programs in countries such as Mexico and Russia. Trials in Brazil have already started.
