Intel to Pour US$1Bln in Developing Countries in the Next 5 Years

Intel has announced that over the next five years it will spend US$1 billion to help increase PC penetration and IT knowledge in developing countries. Efforts for this project, also known as the World Ahead Program, include developing affordable PCs for local consumers, expanding wireless broadband access, and educating local people to use IT technology. This program is an extension of Intel's previous community PC initiative.
