Taiwan's TOA Lighting has announced that it will invest NT$1 billion in establishing three CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) production lines, which are expected to ramp up in early 2007, with a monthly capacity of 1.5 million units. Meanwhile, TFC (Taiwan Fluorescent Lamp) has stated that it will set up a joint venture with a backlight module maker to produce CCFLs. They will construct four production lines initially, with a monthly capacity of 1.8 million units, and will expand to 20 lines by late 2007, capable of producing 7.5 million CCFLs per month.
