Funai to Significantly Increase LCD TV Capacity by 2007

According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Japanese Funai is planning to spend 10 billion Yen on its LCD TV plant in Guangdong, China, in an attempt to boost its overall LCD TV capacity to five million units in the fiscal year 2007, which is eight times higher than the production capacity in fiscal 2005. This capacity expansion is aimed at addressing rising LCD TV demand in the United States and Europe.
