Japanese NGK has decided to spend 30 billion Yen for setting up a chip package plant in Komaki, Japan, with construction slated to start in May 2006 and operation in early 2008. This plant, which aims at production of plastic packages for PC microprocessors, will boosts NGK's capacity by 40%. NGK expects that this capacity expansion will be able to meet growing demand from its clients, which include Intel.
