AUO to Break Ground on 2nd 7.5G Plant in May 2006

In line with its long-term strategy of constructing three 7.5G plants and one 8G plant in central-Taiwan, Taiwanese AUO has planned to establish a second 7.5G plant, producing panels for 40- and 50-inch and above LCD TVs. AUO will invest NT$254 billion in this plant, which is expected to generate 5.4 million units annually by 2010, or the equivalent of NT$366.5 billion.
