Japanese Sanyo has announced that they will shut down the TV plant in Spain, including cutting 60% of its workforce by March 2006. Britain will then become Sanyo's main production site in Europe. Meanwhile, Sanyo and Kodak have decided to close SD Display, the joint venture between both companies for OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) display manufacturing. Sanyo will be focusing on rechargeable batteries and commercial air conditioners.
