OKI has developed a 13-bit driver IC for LCD TVs and monitors with mass production to kick off in June. It has a data transfer speed of 500MB per second and the capability of controlling each RGB color separately, improving image quality. The driver IC will be used in full high-definition LCD TVs and LCD monitors for medical and graphic use. OKI expects to seize more than 30% of global market share with a monthly capacity of 60 million units by 2007.
