Japanese Domestic Server Shipments Grew 8% in 4Q '05

According to figures released by JEITA in early February, Japanese domestic shipments of computer servers increased 8% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2005, reaching 113,348 units. This shipment volume represented a value of 143.9 billion Yen, growing only 1% year-on-year due to price falls. Furthermore, JEITA said that domestic mainframe computer shipments decreased by 18% in the same quarter, falling to 181 units, while shipment value went down by 3% to 45.4 billion Yen.
