The Indian MAIT (Manufacturers' Association for Information Technology) recently stated that the Indian PC market is expected to grow by 25% to 30% in 2006. Desktop PC sales are expected to amount to 4.5 million units in 2005, and this number is forecasted to grow to about 5.6 million units in 2006. MAIT said notebook PC sales are enjoying annual growth rates of about 100%, and are forecasted to reach 350,000 to 400,000 units in 2006.
