Truly International Holdings, a LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) supplier for Chinese handset makers with 10 to 20 percent market share, has announced that they will establish a TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) LCD line for handsets in China, preferably in Guangdong, Shanghai, Wuxi, or Suzhou, with US$1.2 billion. According to Truly, this will cut its production costs by 70%, compared with using panels from Korean and Japanese makers.
