On December 19 Chinese Xoceco (Xiamen Overseas Chinese Electronic) announced a five-year plan, in which a capacity expansion to eight to ten million units has been planned to make Xoceco one of the world's top five flat-panel TV makers. To achieve this goal, Xoceco has set up a new industrial park in Xiamen as its global flat-panel TV center. In addition, Xoceco has forged strategic ties with Samsung and LG, while establishing a lab with the flat-panel TV chip maker Zoran for stronger partnership.
