Omron has successfully built LED elements into a 3mmx6mm module made of a double layer of resins to make the illumination of LEDs evener and more natural. Omron claimed that this module has solved the problem of placing LEDs far behind the panel to generate evenly distributed light. Omron intends to use this flat light source on large, high-end LCD TVs and expects to roll out commercialized devices with this in 2006.
