LG has successfully extended the lifespan of AM OLED (Active-matrix Organic Light-emitting Diode) from 3,000 hours to 8,000 hours with a screen brightness of 500nit by setting the initial brightness of red, green, and blue to 2,300 nit, 4,200 nit, and 1,500 nit respectively. The improved OLED can be used in handheld devices, such as satellite DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) and car navigation systems.
