Taiwan LCD Industry to Benefit from Revamped Warehouse Regs
December 02, 2005
Taiwan's MOF (Ministry of Finance) has modified the regulation of bonded warehouses, allowing companies to deposit imported goods outside a logistic center under certain conditions, without unpacking them. Applicants will have to manage their own centers. In addition to saving time and reducing transportation, construction, and re-packaging costs, the new regulation will cut the defect rate of TFT-LCD panels, which require high-speed logistics and dust-free transportation. In response to the regulation, Taiwanese CMO has planned to set up an outdoor logistic center with NT$300 million in southern Taiwan to provide global logistic for the companies in that area.
