Lucent Teams Up with Datang for TD-SCDMA Development
November 25, 2005
Reuters recently reported that Lucent has formed a 3G alliance with the Chinese company Datang. Lucent will supply Datang with core 3G network systems, which Datang intends to use for its TD-SCDMA network. Currently, the two companies are already engaged in joint tests of 3G equipment. Specific details about the partnership were not yet available. Lucent is a late entry into TD-SCDMA development, as many of its rivals, such as Siemens and Nokia, have already started up development projects for the Chinese 3G standard.
