LG.Philips to Expand AM OLED Capacity

According to the Electronic Times, LG.Philips is planning to construct a 5.5G AM OLED line at its P8 plant in Paju, Korea, in addition to an 8G LCD line. Its current AM OLED panels are mainly intended for 40-inch displays, while the 5.5G panels will be used to produce 50-inch displays. Construction on the 5.5G AM OLED line is said to start in late 2006 and it is to begin mass production in 2007.
