Quanta Display to Expand Capacity at 6G Plant

Quanta Display recently announced it will invest an extra NT$8 billion to expand the monthly capacity of its sixth-generation plant to 60,000 units by the end of 2006, from the current 20,000 units and the expected 45,000 units in mid-2006, as demand in the LCD TV market is heating up. In the LCD TV panel segment, Quanta Display currently ships 45,000 units per month overall, accounting for 10% of its total revenues. Monthly shipment volume of LCD TV panels is expected to hit 60,000 at the end of 2005, partly because of the increasing production at the sixth-generation plant.
