Toshiba Increases Investment in Flash Memory

Toshiba recently announced it will increase investment in its semiconductor business in the fiscal year 2005 to 225 billion Yen, up 33.1% from its original budget of 169 billion Yen. Most of the added investment will be used to increase monthly production of NAND flash memory chips at its factory in Mie Prefecture, Japan, which it operates in cooperation with US Sandisk, to 48,750 units of 300mm wafers by March 2007.
