E Ink, LG.Philips Develop Flexible Electronic Paper Display
October 21, 2005
US E Ink announced on October 19 it has developed, in cooperation with LG.Philips, what it says is the world's largest high-resolution flexible electronic paper display. The 10.1-inch display is only 300 microns thick, while it has SVGA resolution and a 10:1 contrast ratio. Material used for the display ensures it has power consumption up to 100 times less than LCDs. Manufacturing of a prototype took place at one of LG.Philips' existing production lines in Korea.
