Samsung has developed a color filterless LCD panel for 32-inch TVs. Featuring a color saturation that is 110% of the NTSC standard and a 78% aperture ratio, the panel can achieve a brightness of 500nits. It is claimed to consume only 82 watts with a response time less than 5ms, which is ideal for multimedia and video applications. The new panel will be demonstrated in a FPD International 2005, with mass production to kick off in the second half of 2006.
