New Pricing Structure for Linux Software on IBM Blade Servers
October 14, 2005
IBM announced on October 12 that it will adopt a new pricing structure for Novell's SUSE Linux software running on the company's blade servers. Instead of paying for each separate server, IBM customers will be able to buy a license for a complete chassis with each chassis containing a maximum of 14 servers. Prices will start at $2,792 per chassis, and the license will cover Intel-, AMD- and PowerPC-based servers.
