Taiwanese Tatung has sold its PC division to Elitegroup at approximately NT$6.7 billion in exchange for a 30% stake in Elitegroup, becoming Elitegroup's largest shareholder. Tatung will transfer the assets, equipment, personnel, and business of its PC division to Elitegroup, including the Mexico plant. Meanwhile, Elitegroup will manufacture Tatung's own-branded PCs. After selling the PC division, which accounts 50% of their total revenues, Tatung will focus on digital TVs and digital consumer electronics.
