According to recently released figures by Taiwanese Novatek, in the second quarter of 2005 the company for the first time shipped more than 100 million large size LCD IC drivers, representing strong growth in comparison with the 75 million units shipped in the first quarter. Shipment volume is forecasted to keep increasing in the third and fourth quarter, and shipment volume for the full year 2005 is expected to approach 400 million units, raising the company's share of the worldwide large size LCD IC driver market to 14%, only trailing market leader Samsung.
