Sampo to Enter Chinese, European Markets in 1Q 2006
September 23, 2005
Sampo plans to market their G-Hanz Sampo brand LCD TVs in Europe starting the first quarter of 2006 with a forecasted revenue of US$10 million in 2006 and US$100 million in 2008. Due to the high tariff policy in Europe, Sampo has decided to work with Taiwanese OEMs to produce LCD TVs there, instead of establishing their own plant in the region. The Taiwanese partners are expected to start pilot runs in December and mass production in February 2006. In addition to Europe, Sampo plans to enter the Chinese market in the first quarter of 2006 with the production of their Kunshan Plant. Sampo is in talks with channel players in order to pick out two partners.
