LG has started mass production on the PDP (Plasma Display Panel) module line A3 in Gumi, Korea from September 2005. The A3 module line, built with 600 billion won, is initially adopting six-panel cutting process that turns out 120,000 42" PDP modules per month. After upgrading to an eight-panel process in 2006, the A3 line will create a monthly production capacity of approximately 160,000 42" units. LG will also strengthen the existing A1 and A2 lines by boosting the monthly production capacity from 165,000 to 190,000 42" units. Combined with the production of A3 line, LG is expected to achieve a monthly production capacity of 310,000 units in 2005 and 350,000 42" units in 2006.
