LPL Plans Set-up of LCM Plant in Europe

LPL (LG. Philips LCD) is aiming to invest one billion euros to set up a LCM (LCD Module) plant in Eastern Europe in response to the high customs duties imposed by the European Union. The time frame remains unknown. Having set up a LCM plant in Korea's Gumi and China's Nanjing, LPL is also planning a new LCM line in Korea's Gyeonggi-do and is expected to start mass production in the first half of 2006.
