LG is conducting an OLED pilot run now and is expected to start mass producing AM OLED in the first half of 2006. They will then become the first company to produce AM OLED in Korea. The two OLED lines in Gumi both can produce PM OLED or AM OLED, but LG decided to get down to the production of AM OLED first. To stimulate the development of AM OLED, the research is carried out together by LG and LG Philips LCD, which will provide the low temperature poly silicon LCD. The AM OLED produced by LG will be used as 2.1" mobile display that supports full color and QVFA (320x240). It is also expected that Samsung SDI will start producing AM OLED in mid-2006.
