Samsung to Adopt PMR Technology for HDD

Following Seagate, which first incorporated PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording) technology into their 2.5" 160GB HDD in June 2005, beginning in late 2005 Samsung will begin adopting PMR, with plans to apply the technology to its entire HDD line. The company will be rolling out a 2.5" PMR HDD for notebook PCs in the first half of 2006.
