US and Japanese Photomask Makers Investing in Korea

US Toppan Photomasks plans to invest US$80 million to set up a 90nm photomask production plant in Icheon, and it will put in another US$200 million over the next three years. US Photronics has plans to invest an extra US$180 million in its Korean subsidiary PKL, while Japanese Hoya will invest US$40 million for a LCD photomask production plant in Gyeonggi.
