TriGem Remains a Notebook PC Contender with Gov't Support
July 27, 2005
Receiving support from the South Korean government, TriGem, who had filed for court receivership in May 2005, is now working to make a comeback in the global notebook PC industry. The maker was restructured under government assistance, and is expected to henceforth concentrate primarily on developing its branded notebook PC sales worldwide. Although the maker's ODM business has been seriously undercut by Taiwanese manufacturers, its Averatec notebook PC sales have gained ground in the US. According to reports, Averatec currently ranks ninth in the US notebook PC market.
