Sintek to Provide 5G CFs to SVA-NEC in Aug '05
July 22, 2005
Sintek will begin shipping fifth-generation color filters to SVA-NEC in August 2005. It will be the first specialized Taiwanese CF maker to sell to foreign players. The CFs to be shipped to SVA-NEC will be produced on South Sintek's fifth-generation lines. According to estimates, Sintek will be able to allocate around 10,000 units of production to SVA-NEC by the end of 2005. BOE is said to be in talks with Sintek for CF procurement as well.

Also in August this year, Sintek will break ground for its sixth-generation plant in Central Taiwan Science Park, while formally merging South Sintek. Tentative monthly capacity at the new plant is set at 30,000 units. South Sintek's fifth-generation plant is doing well in terms of yield rates. Monthly capacity at the factory has reached 65,000 units, and is hopeful of achieving 72,000 units after some adjustments.
