SCP Expects 5% Price Decline on Glass Substrate in 2005
July 22, 2005
SCP (Samsung Corning Precision) is optimistic about lowering the price for glass substrates by 5% in 2005. This bodes some relief to panel makers' production costs. Despite the tight supply for large size glass substrates, the company has restated its promise to supply sufficient glass to contracted customers.

SCP is a 50-50 joint-venture between Samsung and Corning. The maker has production lines set up in Gumi and Cheonan, the Cheonan plant being the only seventh-generation glass substrate plant in the world.
