Eureka Makes Headway in Driver ICs for Small LCDs
July 15, 2005
According to Eureka Microelectronics, a manufacturer of driver ICs, the company has successfully expanded its business into drivers ICs for small- and medium-sized LCDs. Previously focusing on driver ICs for large-sized LCDs, rising industry concentration in that segment has dampened profitability in recent years. In 2003 Eureka was acquired by Elan Microelectronics, which currently has a share of 70% in Eureka. The company had an overall revenue of NT$350 million in 2004 and a driver IC shipment volume of more than 10 million units. In 2004 it made a slight profit of NT$30 million.
