Hisense Produces First Color TV to Adopt a Chinese Chip

Hisense has successfully manufactured the first color TV ever to adopt a chip developed independently by a Chinese player. The homegrown digital video processor, codenamed Hiview, employs the 0.18 micron CMOS process, has close to two million logic gates, and integrates over seven million transistors. The maker has announced its decision to begin producing Hiview TVs on its color TV lines in Qingdao, Liaoning, Guiyang, Zibo, and Linyi.
