Acer to Switch to National Agency Channel Strategy in China
July 08, 2005
Hoping for better competitiveness in the Chinese PC market, Acer has decided to make changes in its channel strategy. The maker will seek to collaborate with larger channel players in the market, rather than with its existing regional or provincial partners. Acer is still in the process of picking out one or two national agents that will later be in charge of its channels and logistics in China. This alteration is anticipated to give Acer more time to focus on brand marketing and ultimately help it rank among the top three PC vendors in China. Its goal for 2005 is to rank the fourth in notebook PC shipments, and fifth in the desktop PC.
