Toppan to Ship Printed Color Organic EL TV Panels in 2008
July 01, 2005
Toppan Printing has developed a new kind of color organic electroluminscent panel, in which the RGB layers are coated through color printing. The new production method, compared to the currently used mask-aided vapor deposition technology, can effectively reduce costs and can be adopted to manufacture larger color EL panels. The maker expects to start providing such panels to TV makers in 2008. Also striving for market share, competitor Dai Nippon Printing uses the ink-jet technology for the differential coloring of organic EL materials.
