Having developed the Chinese market for several years, NVIDIA announced the establishment of its first three operations in China, to be located in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. The maker's headquarters will be set up in Beijing, where the sales team and field applications engineers will be stationed. Two R&D centers, one in Shanghai and one in Shenzhen, will concentrate respectively on VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) design and system design. In addition to the desktop and notebook PC segments, NVIDIA also has plans to dig into the market for handheld devices.
