Computing - Ncomputing, VIA Team up on Cheap PCs for India
June 17, 2005
Korean Ncomputing and Taiwanese CPU maker VIA Technologies will team up to develop extremely low-priced computers for the Indian market. The price will be set at US$99 per unit. The computers will be able to support Windows and Linux, which the Indian government is vigorously trying to popularize. Intentions are to first sell the PCs to governmental agencies, after which they will be slowly disseminated among households.
