CMO (Chi Mei Optoelectronics) showcased what is claimed to be the world's lightest and thinnest notebook PC panel at FPD Taiwan 2005 in early June. The panel weighs just 300 grams, and is only 4.8mm thick. CMO also for the first time displayed its full range of wide-screen notebook PC panels, from 12.1", 14.1", 15.4", to 17.1". The maker's new panel specifications are said to boast enhanced brightness, higher color gamut, and shorter response time of just 16ms.
