Samsung Corning, having successfully developed 32" slim CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) glass substrates in September of 2004 and having attained the quality certification for the offering, has begun providing these substrates to Samsung SDI in April 2005. To help Samsung SDI reach its third quarter shipment goals, the maker is also aggressively developing 29" slim CRT substrates as well as substrates for 17" CDT (Color Display Tube) monitors. Samsung SDI previously procured most of its glass substrates from Japanese NEG.
