Samsung Electronics has successfully developed a 40" AM-OLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) panel just three centimeters thick. Produced on the maker's fourth-generation LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) line using a fourth-generation glass substrate, 730mm x 920mm in dimension, the panel has a WXGA (Wide Extended Graphics Array) format high definition screen of 1,280 x 800 pixels. Following this success, the maker expects to apply the production method to substrates above the fourth generation.
